*About: Santa's Bag

In case you're young or musically challenged, the title is a small homage to the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, and his 1965 hit song "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag." The song scored Mr. Brown his first Grammy.

James Brown was born on May 3, 1933 and died on Christmas Day, 2006. Like many very poor, rural, African-American students of his era, he was forced out of school by the 7th grade. Throughout his music career, Mr. Brown advocated for education and encouraged young people to stay in school.

Almost 10 years after his death, the tens of millions of dollars James Brown designated to a new educational foundation (the "I Feel Good Trust") remain ensnared in legal disputes. The I Feel Good Trust will eventually provide educational benefits to low-income youth in South Carolina and Georgia.

In the meantime, consider end-of-year giving to those educational charities who may be opening the door to amazing developments in nanotechnology simply by helping children of all socioeconomic & geopolitical groups learn, grow...and possibly be our next Nobel Laureates.
